Greeting

“Welcome to the New America,” an America which, by the vote of its electorate, has this week plotted against God, has set themselves, as the New American Electorate, together against the Lord and against Jesus, the Anointed of God, saying that the New America wants secularism instead of faith in God, saying that the New America wants abortion, saying that the New America wants gay marriage, rights and ordinations in the church – that the New America wants gay conduct to be legitimized into the mainstream of American life --, saying that the New America is ready to abandon the divine blessings that flow only from blessing Israel, saying that the New America believes that the burden and privilege of charity belong to the government and not to individuals and to the church, saying that the government of the New America should determine family values and not the church, saying that, in the New America, government taxation should increase and government intrusion into our religious freedoms and other rights should increase. Yes, that is what the New American Electorate just voted for: for a New America in which the minority of voters are taxed on their incomes, in order to support the majority of voters who pay no net taxes on their incomes. This trajectory of self-government makes slaves of the majority to support the minority, and this will not end well for the New America. So, this morning, in my greetings to you, I say, “Welcome to the New America”. We, the New American Electorate, have elected just what we voted for! Thus, necessarily, today, we Christians ask, and ask again, “How shall we live in joy, peace and contentment in this New America, this New America which will be with us for four more years, but only as a prelude to generations to come, if we as a nation last so long?” We search for, and will find, the answer in this historical context: It took America a long time to get here, to have become this New America, and it will take a long time, if ever, for correction to come to the course of the New America and its New American Electorate.

Call to Worship

Against this greeting this morning, our Call to Worship, our Call to Life, comes from these passages:

  • Psalm 11:3, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
  • Psalm 2, “Why do the nations rage, and the people plat a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying. ’Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure, ’Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.’”
  • Psalm 121, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your coming out and your going in from this time forth, and even forevermore.”

Message

Election 2012: The New American Electorate favors policies antithetical to Christian principles based on the Word of God: Abortion, Gay Marriage and gay legitimacy, secular world view taught in schools and colleges, formalistic, not substantive support of Israel, confiscation and redistribution of the wealth and income, taking from people the God-given right to enjoy the fruits of their labor (which is how we pursue happiness – Declaration of Independence), and then giving it to those who have not labored. One wonders, not about the newly-elected POTUS, but about this Electorate, about the ones who elected him. This question, this wonderment, is not about President Obama – it is not about whom-ever is the President, now and in the future. Rather, this question is about the lost character of the New American Electorate. And, so, one does wonder, now, about American society today, and its character, and what the character of this American society will look like as it continues on this trajectory, this new trajectory of failure for this New America, on into the future, not just for four more years, but long-term.

Prognosis for Christians: The secular humanists, the progressives, the socialists, the Marxists, the LGBT’s, the abortionists, and those who seek to end America’s global strength and preeminence are now in charge, not just as POTUS, but as the New American Electorate. Christians may expect an increasingly powerful and intrusive surge of these social policies into what will be, and in fact by the vote this week of this Electorate is already, regarded as the mainstream in American values, thought, policy and conduct.

Thus, Christians may expect more extreme Federal tax policy designed to favor these ugly, sinful, social policies, using Christian tax dollars to do so. Christians may expect public declarations of the Word of God to become even more censored, even more subject to criminal prosecution, even more subject to disdain by the majority of Americans. Christians may expect the New America to provide at best lukewarm, and worse no, support for Israel in its coming time of crisis. We live now in a new chapter of intrigue, and this new intrigue revolves around Israel. You will not be able to trust what you hear that is put out about Israel, for public consumption by the New American government. The economy of the New America will fail, worse than before, due to our debt structure, our operating deficits, and the fact that interest on that debt has to be paid on that debt to our nation’s creditors, and the burden of that interest alone will one day cripple the New America’s economy, and therefore the global economy. And, as a result, austerity programs will be forced upon the New America by the UN and by the IMF and by our creditors, by those who have bought the New America’s bonds and T-Bills. Our New American economy will go into free-fall; our lifestyles will be supported by barter and friendship, and by a black market exchange system, and by God’s miraculous, gracious, supernatural provision. Lawlessness (looting, armed robbery, murder and rape, see 2 Timothy 3:1-4) will be commonplace, part of our daily lives, every day, and right here in our community.

Yes, our foundations have been shaken, and they are shaking, and what are we to do; what are we as Christians to do, when we have now learned that we have little to no reason to put our faith in the New American government or the New American Electorate.

We who once were the majority of American voters, Christians, are now the minority, and are subject to the “tyranny of the majority,” as James Madison was concerned about, and later, as Tocqueville warned us about.

The New America has deified its government, and has defied God. God has allowed the New American Electorate, in the exercise of its free will, to vote itself into the trap in which it now finds itself, and into which we have been dragged by the tyranny of the majority. Now, as God knows, the New American Electorate will have to “go on with that”, in the sense that the New America, by a slim but real majority of its voters, is now stuck with the consequences of its choices and decisions, and they will lead us into the circumstances described above. Oh, yes, there will be, along the way, some emergency financial patches, and some financial bridges, and some temporary measures, all grasping at straws, until the New America begins drowning in the financial sea of debt. Then, at a time, there will be no more straws to grasp. Rather, we will then be forced to swallow only the bitter pills of either losing our national sovereignty to a global control group, or if we can resist that, then, there will be a desperate, beyond-painful resetting of our economy. There is no free lunch.

The Lesson (Ten Points, for the compass of our daily living):

Prologue to The Lesson: Of course, we will all join in, as relatively-mature Christians, and say that, of course, we all need to be in the Word of God (reading, studying and meditating on Scripture), and that we all need to be in prayer, and that we all need to be in repentance, and that we all need to be seeking the instruction and leading of the Holy Spirit+, and that we all need to be trying, really hard, to obey God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit+. Yes, all of that is true, but I am assuming that we are all, in this body, in the same place on that, and that we will stay there on those “ground-level” assumptions. But, today, the Holy Spirit+ offers us Ten Points on the Compass of our Daily Lives, and then three or four ways we can organize those Ten Points into the wisdom of our plans of action for each day and each crossroads of each day.

Here are the Ten Points of the Compass of Daily Life for us:

  1. Confession and Repentance: The New American Electorate erred in deifying its government and denying and defying God. Rather, Isaiah 9:6, the government will be upon His shoulders – only. We need to be in persistent Confession and Repentance, like the believers among the church of Israel of the Old Testament, confessing and repenting of the national sins, and interceding for changes in the hearts of the people, now of The New American Electorate.
  2. Glorify God: The true church needs to grow back into a new majority, not only in America, but globally. Revelation 17 (the Harlot is the false church) + Revelation 18:4, “Come out of her my church, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” The true church will grow only through evangelism and discipleship and maturization. The true church needs re-purposing, re-vitalizing, new choices. The true church is and will be, will consist only in, the cumulative expression of the individual choices made by true Christians, by whether in the days ahead we each choose to be “Living Epistles”, written by the Spirit of the living God, per 2 Corinthians 3:3, knowing that our sufficiency is from God, per 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, such that we, as Christians in the true church, are approved even by the pagans, per 1 Peter 2:11-17; knowing that, in all, God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him, Hebrews 11:6; and, knowing through all that is now here in this New America, and all that is coming upon this New America, and all that, now, as the fruit of our national choices, must come upon the New Amereica, per Psalm 121:7-8, that “The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in, from this time forth and even forevermore.”
  3. Hunker down in Jesus: John 15:1-27, [READ], Abide in Jesus that your joy may be complete (Verse 11).
  4. Take (it won’t come to you naturally) joy in tribulations: (We WILL have tribulations, but, nevertheless, purpose ourselves in our hearts to have Complete Joy), Romans 5:1-5; James 1:2-4. [READ]
  5. Peace: Philippians 4:4-9 [READ]
  6. Self Discipline: Galatians 5:23 (The last enumerated Gift of the Spirit)
  7. Practice True Religion: James 1:27 (orphans and widows); Matthew 25 (the hungry, thirsty, unclothed, the sick, the imprisoned, the homeless). Be an example against those who deify government as the seat of charity and the satisfaction, security and sufficiency of the citizenry of The New American Electorate.
  8. Walk in the Spirit and Live in the Spirit, Galatians 5:25
  9. Hope: Romans 5:5, based on joy in tribulations and trouble, does not disappoint us. (Example, stoning of Stephen, Acts 6 and 7, especially, READ, 6:15; 7:54-60)
  10. Be Real, In Your Expectations of Life, Death, Hope and Joy and Peace -- About Being Born Again/Immunity from the permanency of the first, physical death: “To live is Christ; to die is gain,” Philippians 1:21.

Now, how do we apply these Ten Points of daily living, in the compass of our lives, our daily directions? How do we move from devotional to direction, from faith to action? Here’s how, in three or four ways:

  1. We must know what is coming to the New America. What is coming to the New America will be frightening, painful, and at times agonizing. Maybe not now, maybe not even within the next four years, but well within our life times, it is all coming home to roost. There is no free lunch. Under this pressure, in the fire of this crucible, God is allowing His people, His church, to be tested beyond what they have in their, in this, generation, ever been before been forced to imagine, at least in America. By the ways in which we, individually, as Christians, handle these times, these times for which we were born, we will demonstrate, each of us, one by one, to God, whether we are in the true church or the apostate church. And, one or the other, the true church or the apostate church will grow and grow by our individual decisions, as they are counted together as, not just in, the history of this, our, generation. We will, like Stephen, be forced to decide whether we will walk out our faith in all circumstances, and whether we will do so in joy, peace and prayers of intercession for those who are causing our personal, and that of our loved ones, tribulations, persecutions, imprisonments, tortures and death.
  2. We must stand together as the true church, against, yet compassionately and gracefully for, all others, not just knowing and believing, but living like this, being content in all circumstances: Ephesians 4:1-7, “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called as one hope of your calling: one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in you all. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of God’s gift.”
  3. We must know that God is our Satisfaction, our Security and our Sufficiency. These three giant “S’s” do not come from the government or ourselves or others. The true government of the earth, and of America, even of the New America, is upon the shoulders of Jesus, and there will be no end of the increase of His government and His peace. Jesus will order the government, the one upon His shoulders, and He will establish it – in fact, He has already established it – with judgment and justice. Your task, our task, is to sustain ourselves as true members of the true church. By being His people, the people of God, separated from the false church and from the world around us, we, thereby, sustain our citizenship in the government which is upon the shoulders of Jesus. Remember we are aliens and sojourners here, and if we never saw that before, you should see it now as the reality of the ugly sinfulness of the New America sinks into your knowledge and your discernment.
  4. If you believe these things, then it is “game on”, and time to throw yourself, from devotional beliefs into the fight, into the fight to glorify God, to obey Him and to trust Him, so much that, in all circumstances, your joy will be complete, and you will be at peace and content. Those we lose, in this life, in this fight of our generation, we will soon join on the other side, in a short time.

Conclusion

This New America presents major challenges for us all, and major threats to us all. Most, and worst, of all, the New America constitutes the institutional, organic, defiance by the American Electorate of God Almighty Himself. The New American Electorate has deified its flesh and its government and denied that God is who He says He is, and has rejected His Son, Jesus. The New American Electorate plots against the Creator. The New American Electorate has won this battle, and it will win many more, but it will lose the war. God will win the war and Jesus will judge.

Meanwhile, through all the trials and tribulations here today, and certain to come, cling to the knowledge, Romans 8:28, that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

Be in prayer, even more so, for another Great Awakening of Revival to sweep not only across America but across the globe and that this one may capture the 1040 window of Islam.

“Stand up, Hook up, and Shuffle to the Front!” it is time to put your faith into ACTION! Then, you will have, and you will engender in others, Joy, Peace, Contentment – in all circumstances – wrought in and by The New American Electorate, in its New America.

God bless you and amen+
