Patient Endurance

Read John 16:33 “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have over come the world

(I talked about trying to have two cars and the lightning strike that damaged my second car and, put me back to one working car.)

Patience (Oxford Dictionary)

  1. Calm endurance of hardship, provocation, pain, and delay.
  2. Tolerant perseverance or forbearance.

Read Galatians 5:22 Fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

(Here I spoke about how patience is something God gives us. )

I would say when your patient you have more self control. So many things try our patience, work, people at work, family. We use patience in just about everything we do. When we are inpatient with others it usually does not have positive results. If you are uptite, irritable, pressure builds in you. Result you can snap at others. Impatience usually does not help a situation. Anger, frustration, sadness are some of the results. It can make a bad situation worse.

Read John 18:10 Peter became inpatient with the arrest of Jesus, but the patience of Jesus calmed the situation. Has anyone heard of the phrase “The patience of Job” or Patience is a virtue.

Virtue: (Webster Dictionary)

  1. One of the order of angels.
  2. Moral practice or action; moral excellence.

Our Lord wants us to be patient in all that we do and all that we are living with.

Read Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Prayer is the key in how we gain patience. We look to our God and pray. Stay more focused on our savior Jesus Christ than our situations. When you put your situations in the hands of God you will gain patience.

Billy Graham was asked if he could change something about his life in the past what that would be? He said, “ I would have prayed more”.

Going back to the definition of patience. The first part said “Calm Endurance”.

Endurance (Webster Dictionary)

  1. State or capability of lasting; continuance.
  2. Act of suffering; a continuing, or the power of continuing under pain , hardship, or distress without being overcome.

Life itself is endurance.

Read Romans 15: 1-6

So along with prayer to God for patience and endurance we have scripture. So Important to read scripture to develop your patience and endurance. We also need to help one another with this.
